Becoming an Author

Becoming an Author

I was so excited at the thought of becoming an author. What a major accomplishment! What a blessing to be given a space in life where I could put my thoughts on paper and tell the world about it. Instead of people saying, hello Gabrielle, they say "Author" when they see me. Wow.

What I didn't know was that the responsibilty of pouring your heart out to the world comes with a weight. Becoming a leader has major responsibilites. We always want to be the boss and we think we are ready for leadership. That is until we get it. Once you are there you do a lot more stopping, and breathing. Lots of deep breaths. Stop and process what just happened before cooley responding with the best possible solution. Or if the situation is too wild you can just look at the person and cock your head to the side. That will buy you some time as you think in the back of your mind, "what is going on here".

I thank God for this book and the leadership position that came with it, despite how very challenging it has been. I am currently working with 35 new partnerships with woman who are in the internship of development, personal growth, and partnership. What a blessing! I do not take my position or these partnerships for granted. As an author I will be open and honest and do what I vowed to myself and God to do, help others to not make the mistakes I have made in the past, and share whatever knowledge of life that I may have. As an author, that is my vow to you.
